Take the First Step
You may want to talk with different people about puberty, sex, and pregnancy. Remember, the first time that you get your period is the right time for the conversation to start about how to plan for a healthy pregnancy in the future. Ask someone that you trust and feel comfortable with.
- Your doctor or nurse will give you the facts and help you make choices. Ask him or her if they will have to tell anyone else what you said.
- Parents can give advice and help you make choices.
- Friends can listen, give advice, and support your decisions.
- Your partner should know how you feel about sex and relationships.
- Your partner should know whether or not you want to have sex.
